Ive lurked this forum for a long time and decided to sign up as I have a question Id like to ask and see what people think..

I curently have a 125 gallon tank with 3 severum, 2 geophagus, a algae eater, and a albino shark, and a snail...

Ive not had any issues with the fish, they all live together no problems,,,

Ive had ideas to add a new fish = TIGER OSCAR ... Ive had oscars in the past and realise they are special and usually dont do wel with others ..

My severum are all 3 - 4 inches , I know Oscars grow fast,, If I get a Small Oscar and let it grow up Im thinking it might be ok...

Anyone had Oscars and Severums before have thoughts ?? Im still undecided....

Thanks in advance..

David

It makes it hard to answer your question properly as we don’t know what species of fish that you have. Some species of Heros can reach 12 inches, as well as some species of Geophagus that on average will reach 6-12 inches, and I don’t have a clue what an albino shark or your definition of an algae eater is? With all that said, I personally think you’re already at capacity currently. While may not seem full now but some of those fish can get quite large. The vast majority of hobbyist will recommend a standard 125g for a solo ocellatus.

I agree, I would not add an Oscar to a tank with this many fish already. Oscars get BIG and with big fish comes big waste. Not just in po but also in urine. Maybe if the tank was a 2x2x6 or a 2x2x8, but in a standard 125 I would not suggest it.
