Hey everybody just wanted to say Im new to the froums have been a SA/CA Cichlid lover for many years.

I Currently have a 75 gallon with 2 baby albino oscars, silver aro, baby red tail, chocolate, firemouth, blue jack dempsey, green texas, 3 geo's, and a buetiful vieja argentea. Obviously as they get bigger theyll be moved to their respective tanks and as I get more room.

But what I am most excited about is I just started my quest to find 1 or 2 nice breeding pairs of festae. Picked up 6 today at my LFS they order them in for me. All about a inch but already very very bright red fins (pictures to come) and while I was in there I picked up a BIG SPOT pleco. Any tips or advice for trying to breed these guys? I am very excited and will be posting pictures soon. Also they are in a 30 gallon tank as of now.

I AGREE WOW!!! :ROFL::WHOA::WHOA:

Dude I wouldn't even dare myself to put that many fish in a 75 The Max I would put in there is ONE Oscar or the Veija lol. Hopefully you get a MASSIVE tank soon like a 10x4x4 lol. I assume that the Red Tail your talking about is a Red Tail Cat? Let me break it down if you want to breed Festae you got to go BIGGER like about 125-150 gallons for breeding pair so I would line up a 10x4x4 with a nice 125 and you will no longer have problems. The Aro is going to get BIG Quick and a 24"+ fish isn't comfy in a 48" tank. The RTC will out grow the 75 two times over in a year. The Geo's will get trashed by the so called green texas even though it is really called a Carpinte. The Chocolate will most likely get beat on and the Veija will own the tank by shear body size over the other cichlids. So I would say you have about 2 weeks before your params go hay wire and your tank goes into a grave. Hell a 10x4x4 wont even cover what you have in your 75. I am giving you strong advice not flaming don't get it mixed up because obviously you made a mistake unless your building some sort of 1000+ gallon tank. 6 festae wont last in a 30 gallon at all and there will be too much stress for any breeding pair to show up with all the fighting and all. I hope all goes well and your return most of your fish or get a HUGE ass tank soon.

I was at Pet Smart the other day and some dude bought 4 Oscars and 2 JDs and he had no clue about any of it. I had my two young kids with me so I didn't get involved. I was just thinking....I hope you got a huge ass tank!

@ godsdead:dude learn to be more respectful. as every one else says your gonna want a way bigger tank...i think if your lucky and i say lucky except for the rtc you may make it with a 500 gal and some(alot!) filtration

Geez your not gonna have room for water in that tank!

Wow cant anyone read here???:screwy:
He said they will be moved into a bigger tank when bigger, so this would mean they are small, SO this means its a grow out tank.
Doesnt take alot of brain cells to add up that they arnt adult sizes, so a 5ft redtail, 3ft silver aro, 2x15" oscar etc in a 75? Dont think so,think before you flame.
maybe be polite ask what sizes they are and what size there new tank will be, i very big one with a redtail:ROFL:, if yu treat every new member with this behavoir MFK will be less popular fast.

Also are you having a laugh 6x1" fish in a 30gallon tank:screwy:thats more than enough space to grow them out.

Some people on this tank are too quick to flame, its sad. especially over the internet.

adding the festae to that growout tank might not work considering the already limited space and territory issues
