Hi, my name is Alan as you can tell by my user name. I am fairly new to the aquarium hobby. I was an avid reptile collector/dealer/rescuer specializing in snakes for several years. Once my daughter was born two years ago I gave up the reptiles and have since yearned for a new hobby that I can be passionate about as I was reptiles and just a few months ago decided to do something I have always wanted to do and that is get an aquarium.
I have a 75g community tank and my faves seem to be the Blue Rams. I have so far, a German Blue and a German Blue Long Fin and I hope to start breeding Rams in the near future. That is currently my goal and most of my reading lately is how to successfully do that.

I worked with many different types of snakes. All non venomous (except for one copper head I had in my personal collection). My favorites though were just plain ol' Columbian Red Tail Boas. My biggest boa was 10.5 feet 51 lbs. I used it and several others to show at schools in an education program I did and even at Petco on Sundays to educate people on what they were buying and to promote my rescue agency.

I'll get some pics up shortly.

Well, here are a few pics as requested. They did not come out as well as i had hoped. I'm sure part of the reason is that i had to use an old camera due to my 2 yr old daughter hiding my good one (good to me anyway).
I couldn't get any of the 'stock" as was asked, but this will do for now. I have nothing spectacular anyway. Just a variety of standard tropicals. In addition to the 2 Blue Rams I mention earlier, I have Neon tetras, tiger barbs, giant danios, kissing gouramis, red eyed tetras, ext. Some i can't even remember what they are, but I hope to learn much more and become very knowledgeable on fish and aquariums.

When I find my camera I'll take better pics and post them in the photo section of the forum.

Ahhh. Kissing gouramis will get much larger than any of the other fish you have in there. Just be ready for that, lol, I've seen them around 9"+. The other fish can quickly become snacks. Nice starting set up though, better than my goldfish bowls and betta bowls that I started with, lol. Hehe, wait till you get a taste of the larger new world cichlids. ;)

Yeah, I know about the kissing gouramis and plan to have a much larger tank by then. That was the plan when I bought them. We plan to keep all fish in this tank around 3-4" max. I have a 2 small angels in there I'll have to transfer later too.
