Hello all, I'm Barbara from San Antonio, TX. My husband and I really enjoy our tanks....we have 8 with a 9th being delivered Sunday. Our largest tank is 125 gallons (having the second of this size delivered), a 90, 75, 56, 55, 42, and 2 20's, one high and one long. I have bought most of my tanks used, so I've gotten some incredible deals...but it's still an expensive hobby.
My husband is the aquascaper...he can do fantastic things with a tank, and I tend to deal with the fish. I've been asked about maintaining this many tanks...and honestly, I find it fairly simple, as long as I stick to a routine.
I think the coolest fish we have is a Long-nosed Elephant nose, who my husband is training to eat from his hand. This fish was in a 10 gallon tank at the store, with 100+ Neon Tetras all around him, and no cover. He was just freaking out, trying to get some space, running into walls...we couldn't leave him, and he is just a joy. He now lives happily, at least I hope, in a 75 gallon, with 6 Pearl Gouramies, 2 African clawed frogs, some corys and a rubber lipped Pleco.
I have much enjoyed all the posts, and have learned a lot from you all...and have been talked out of some bad ideas...Thanks for sharing.
