Hello!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oscars really won't grow to their full size in anything under 125gallon long, and thats asuming minimal companions.

Many will say one in a 55 is good, but that is a false statement. That is like keeping a silver arow in a 125 gallon tank, the fish will never reach anything near a healthy adult size in such a tank. A 75 gallon will only function for the first 1-3 years, after that you will really need to start looking at doubling your aquarium realestate, especially to keep a pair.

I don't plan on keeping a pair in the 75, if you read my previous post you would see that. I would keep a single Oscar in the tank with either a small school of larger fish, or a larger Pleco species. Despite the fact that my label says "NOOb" I do have the best interest of the fish in mind. If I feel like the Oscar is not growing normally, I will gladly upgrade the tank. If I have 1-3 years in a 75 Gallon tank, then I have time to save up and will upgrade if/when needed. I understand that they can get to 14-16" but all of the other information I have found seems to say that they average about 10-12", at 12" the 75 is 4x the length of the fish and there is an additional 6" for the width for the fish to turn around.
