Finally registered! Been reading and doing research for many months now. Been following many threads and looking on Amy ways to improve my setup.
I started out with a freshwater setup about 7yrs ago with a small 20g and goldfish. Soon got plecos, fw sharks, catfish, etc. The 20 wasn't enough and upgraded to a 55. That lasted about 2.5 yrs. About 4 yrs later in April I decided to bring back the 55g and try saltwater. I was planning on a fish only tank as a reef was too advance to startup. I did my research and went looking for a great lfs. Lucky for me I found one about 20min away. After cycling my tank I added some fish. Got some clownfish, naso tang, yellow tang, copperband butterfly. Weren't added all at the same time. It was about as big as I could fit in the space in the room. Was planning on adding the 55g water and stock into the 240.
Always wanted to have sw sharks so I planned on starting small before I jumped in. With the 240 I thought I would finally have a shot. I researched and found out that bottom dwelling sharks would best in a small aquarium. I looked at my lfs to see if I could find something or order before buying online. I found a lfs that had a nurse and horn shark for sale but knew the nurse shark would be too big and couldn't afford the horn shark at the moment, $450. The owner told me he sometimes got other sharks in. I decided to check in regularly and after 1.5 months I saw a 10" coral cat shark that I had to have. My plan is to get an indoor pond in the next year or so. As of now it'll be going in the garage as that's the biggest available space.
