Yupz. I tried to breed the cardinals before but I failed. There must be some conditions that might have gone wrong or I have yet to discover the trigger. Nevertheless, I have stopped trying now and just maintain that 4-foot tank as it is. My cardinals are tamed. Whenever I stand near to the tank, they will swim closer instead of swimming away. I have been keeping them for at least 3 years. I used to have 50 until one day they contracted ich. It is disastrous to contract ich. They were hit at least twice and I lost quite a lot of them. I have learned how to counter such calamity. I lost a few Yamato shrimps too. :(

I will drain away four fifths of the water from my tank. Then I apply Methlyene Blue and appropriate aeration. One thing to take note is that you must remove any invertebrates. For the first time, I did not remove my Yamato shrimps and many of them were 'stained' by the medicine and were struggling on the gravel floor. I lost a few of those shrimps. Each shrimp costs about US$0.62.

The miracle thing was the ich was removed in less than 2 days. Having noted that every fish was rid of the disease, I will add new water. I have succeeded for 2 times.

try the method for neons listeed in Axelrods, trigger is dropping water level with good food and then suddenly raising waterlevel, slightly acidifing water and dropping hardness. I just put my kiddy pool out in the rain. can you tell us about stuff in markets sold as food we pay premium for here? Thailand has/hads stuff cheap you would pay bucu for. Flagstaff mudskippers were like a$ a lb.
