I have kept piranhas on several occasions and am now setting up a 100 gallon tank for my fish. I am ordering from Aquascape online(any better place, local would be great, Im in Memphis 38109). Now here comes the questions....

Can you mix red belly's with Serrasalmus Rhombeus, Im starting with 1inch?

Starting with about a 5 inch fish, can a Peacock Bass be kept in a tank with the piranhas that are 1inch?

Any of you guys have photos of your tanks with fake plants that look good, I haven't seen any good looking fake plants.

Thanks guys.

you might have success in the short run with the rhom and rbs, bt in the long run it will not work. Short run there is probably a very low chance of success as well.

Peacock bass again is a matter of time. A peacock bass will out grow your reds quickly and your piranhas will probably be what suffers.

If you want a rhom get a rhom only. I suggest a shoal of rbs though much more exciting

I agree with dudley 100% , rhoms and rbp will not work rhoms are solitary fish ....
and your peacock bass will eventually get big enough to eat your rbp so I would just get a small shoal of rbp or a single rhom but to me also I think you would enjoy rbps more then a single rhom

welcome.
you can of course mix serra and pygos together if you like, however, even start with small it'll most likely not work out in the long run, especially your tank is only 100g, no where big enough for such cohab.
couldn't recommend adding a peacock bass to the rbp shoal either, if pbass is bigger than it might try to eat the piranhas, or the piranhas will nip the fins off the pbass.
the only fake plants that look nice are some of the silk plants, just search around in the media section you'll find lots of pictures.

Howdy, and welcome!

Pedro is great, that's where I got mine from. Even though I bought in his store, he packaged them suitable for a transatlantic shipment. He's top notch!

That's because there aren't any. What stops you from using live plants?

Even little Rhoms dont seem to tolerate tankmates IMO. When I got mine he was 1.5 inches. On the first night he had killed 4 african cichlids all 4 inch plus. By the third night he had killed a 8 inch channel cat. He left the pleco alone for about 6 months, then one morning I woke up and he was dead. They are quite shy and boring though, so if the tank is for display or viewing I wouldnt pick a rhom.

no, and whoever said yes has not got a clue

no, pbass eat small piranha in the wild

have a look at plants meant for vivs, its what i use.

Thanks guys. Im really conflicted because I had my mind made up on my P tank but I found a store today that has fish I couldn't find ANYWHERE in California. They have Dovii, Wolf, Black Ps, Exadons and he even has American Aligators witch I will get next month. I will most likely set up my other 50 gallon tank and get the Dovii because I have wanted those for years. I am going to get about 10 red belly's for the 100 gallon though. In the 50 gallon, will peacock go with the Dovii?
