mine does this aswell and i just take out water and refill with cold from the tap (with dechlorinator of course).
also when the temps go up the oxygen decreases so make sure theres lots of surface movement to increase the oxygen amount.
I also found that adding cold bottles of water or icecubes did nothing for my 150G... the fan helps if pointed at the watersurface a bit... also switch off the lights as they will generate a lot of heat too
I can drop my tank a lot just by adding cold water from the tap as its generally cold even on a hot day.. give it a try.
