It's a rare event that I get to supplement one of your posts but here goes...Another odd phenomenon with dissolving materials in water is that some materials become less soluble as the temperature increases. If a material dissolves into water endothermically it will become more soluble as the water temperature increases (examples are table salt and sugar). On the flip side, materials that dissolve into water exothermically (Calcium Chloride or Dowflake) will become less soluble as the water temp increases. Calcium, magnesium, and silica in solution become less soluble with increasing temperature.

Bubbles are gone know..still have brown tint from wood though..okay i won't mess with the media ...but where do i put the carbon....i have an Aqueon 55 ...i like it...anyway where would i put the carbon in on this model...behind the filter pad?...or in front...this won't hurt my bacteria will it?

Merbeast....what should my ph be at then...and should i use a ph upper...to test my ph i currently use 15 second reader strips...

Your pH should be whatever comes out of your tap. Fish generally adapt well to whatever pH they are in. If your pH swings, that is when fish stress and die. If you alter your tank's pH from what comes out of the tap, when you do a water change your pH will swing. So, whatever your tap pH is, that is what your pH should be.
