Im a complete rook in the pbass world. Ive gatherd all my knowledge from this forum. My first attemp didnt go so well. My to baby pbass died after three days. I dont understand what happen. Well i have somewhat of a idea. About the second day the got a slimy whitish growth on them and died soon after. I believe it was due to a ammonia spike. But whatt baffles me is that my tiger shovelnose catfish and arrowana are doing fine. There are also juevys. Any suggestions before i attempt again. the water conditions are perfect like it was before i added them...also pardon the spelling and grammer. I posted this quickly out of frustration.

Did you cycle the tank keeping in mind that you were putting in that much fish???
If you kill a TSN then you are really doing something wrong. My aros have also been very strong. Not sure why the pbass would die though

temerature 84-86+......
water params were not great if you were getting a thick whiteish slime coat... catfishes and aro's are more hardy than lil pea's... they are very fragile when small.... but the key is temp bro!! good luck

what seems to help me on raising pbass is having the temp 85+ and live food.

Where did you get the first two?

Juvie Cichla are Fragile... to a point ... For a first Cichla I would buy 4-6"

water should be about 87 degrees for babies.. test, your ammonia and nitrates
.. give me exact readings.. sounds liek ich or water quality

lol i dont know what to tell you without exact readings. if your telling me your nitrates are 0.. then your lieing lol no offense.. what is your exact temp in the tank?

ya having high tempertaure and finding out ur nitrate,ph and ammonia levels would be a good start. also did u do a water change and forget to put prime or somethin like prime in it?
