HELP ABOUT THE TIGER FISH AND VAMPIRE FISH

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Make sure the Vampire (I would go with an Armatus) is at least 3 times the size of the Tiger. :)... All should be good for awhile. Well, I guess as long as one of them is larger than the other there ill be no dispute over which fish is the dominant one. Maybe you could get lucky and have a Vamiger fish!!!!

I thought GOLIATH TIGER FISH got 6 ft. Look them up on you tube. On river monsters Jeremy wade caught a HUGE one.

I do not know much about them. I just know that they get BIG. I would not put in anything less than 700-900 gallons.

the issue is that they are just not cut out for aquarium life. they grow enormous and unlike other popular giants like arapiama and datnoids they have activity levels that are similar to open water pelagic fish species such as tuna or salmonids, which constantly travel for miles. this makes them extremly claustrophobic and very capable of causing great damage to themselves and equipment in an enclosure setting. Nobody i've seen or heard of has managed to keep one larger then 24 inches.

They did not get big beacause there was no open space. I never thought they would need open space. But i put 2 together. Wild ones get huge!!!!

Yeah I have to agree. Goliath Tigerfish should NOT be kept in captivity. Vitatts, yes, Goliaths no.
