Help adult 1.5 red not eating

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it about 23" and it in a 30 x 72 x 24 tank with 2 fx5 and 1 uv. temp is about 28c. It was eating mealworm, and feeder. but not it won't eat at all. not even the meal worm. The red act very energetic when someone come close to the tank and follow them. It doesn't seem sick or anything. Also i got the fish when he was about 18".

dont give it feeders anymore i bet the feeders gave it a parasite

^I'm not knocking you but it's an assumption based on very little, it could make the poster knee jerk into giving his fish meds it doesn't need to treat internal parasites.
I do agree however that he should not give it feeders anymore.
IMHO if it's behaving OK and it's not showing any signs of illness like string hanging out of its anus it's not got parasites. From experience with other fish, keepers often leave it until it's too late, or very late into the infection with parasites, but if its not showing any signs, lethargy, not pooping properly then no need to give it meds. I think it may just be suffering from constipation in which case there is something you can give it. Try crickets first, Asian go crazy for them. Just get 5 or six of them and throw them in the tank, they'll swim on top so if it doesn't eat them you can fish them out.
Bigger fish, so I'm lead to believe can go a long time without food, and Asians can be fussy, stubborn eaters.
Can someone please give the name of the product used for constipation. (I can't find it here so I give mine shelled green peas once a week, which it loves.)
