Water changes and Aquarium Salt solves alot of 'mysterious' problems.
If a fish has bloat, try increasing the temprature and feeding only 'easily digestable' foods, such as Sweat Peas.. I have used this method a million times on bloated goldfish. (Because pellets expand when swallowed dry, and most fish arent designed to digest food like that)
