help! albino pacman frog not eatting

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You want to make sure the substrate is packed well down so it won't eat any when it catches food. I used a zoo med basking lamp that emitted UVB and UVA rays. Does he have a water bowl?

hmm ok. cause i have a zoo med bulb for tortoise =). he doent have a water bowl because i put the water and coconut husk together. that what that petstore recommended -_-"

A water bowl is recommended cause it allows the frog to cool off and poop easily. My pixie always did her business in the water bowl, so be sure to frequently change the water bowl (daily). Get another of those bulbs for your frog and you're set!

my tortoise pass away like 4 month ago, so i have no use for the bulb. i didnt use it because i read online that it can dgm its skin. so any bowl of water even those i have water with coconut in it already?

Have the light over dry land and the water bowl away from the light. How big is the tank he's in anyway? If it gets to warm at one place he'll move to another or the water bowl. The coconut substrate must be soaked and have all the water squeezed out of it and used as substrate; about 2 inches deep. The wet substrate is not enough to keep your frog moisturized.

Surprised no one has mentioned Chytrid yet...
I'm going to go out on a limb and say he bought it in a petstore. To those who don't know, that means it is pretty much wild caught and has a massive chance of having this fungus.

Tons of info online about it man, read up, read some of the signs and symptoms. Also read how bad it is for Amphibians.
The uva/uvb is super important as well.It lets their bones form proper and also lets them utilize their food better.Your pacman will die just as horrible and just as slow pretty much as it would from fungus if you neglect it UV rays.UVB specifically if budget is a problem, but UVB is the main one.I like to give both, as they evolved under the sun...which has both.

That important.

As for food, look for those fat green feeder worms most petstores that sell live food would have. They are called horned worms, stop with the goldfish.
The occasional rat/mouse and insects...bait shop/wal-mart nightcrawlers are really good as well.I'd grab a few like spaghetti with feeding tongs, and as soon as it would see the movement I'd be trying to pry the tongs out of it's mouth.Over shot the bite EVERY time!Typical lunger...

Form what you said this is pretty reversible IF, IF, IF, IF, it is not trying to Aestivate (hibernate).
If you've always had him relatively cold he might be so darned confused...

Also research MBD, causes and effects.

Good luck man, I love my frogs!

My Ornate Pacman gets crickets, earthworms, and the occasional Mouse, but you can feed them frozen/thawed, just make sure you thaw in dechlorinated water. They don't need live mice. I'd feed bad doing that too.

thats for the info guys. im remove everything, put dry coconut husk with a bowl of water.. thanks =)

Horiyoshi: he used to eat goldfish like there no trwm, but i guess this time he doesnt like it. so im try night crawler like you said. thanks =)
