Not to be a downer but I spent $150 on a UV and haven't had clean water since I turned it on 3 months ago.... very disappointed.

i think something is wrong, because it was like magic on my pond. Mine was like green slime and within a week it looked like tap water

I'm starting to think the UV filter/pump may be stirring the debris on the bottom up.

It's very strong, about a gallon every 3 seconds. I checked the output of it and it was clear... and finally it(the pond) was actually clear a few days before turning on the pump.

Here's a pic of it before the UV, now it"s all green(can't see 2 inches down).

Some of the darker green was sitting(loose?) on the bottom.

When I stand in it, it is knee deep (23inches)

try adding plenty of plants ,maybe a load of marginals as these will use up most of the nutrients and phosphates present in the water.
the main bulk of an algae bloom is down to excess nutrients in the water mixed with plenty of sunlight.
another trick is to not fill your pond from the hose all the time as tapwater often contains high phosphates so your only adding to the problem.
good luck on it :)

Mine was pea soup back during march and I put a 9w UV on it i bought for $20 off ebay and it was clear in a week. My pond is 275g with a mag drive 7 running it.

My issue is over, woke to find my pool pond drained. the ring cracked...there's about 6 inches at the deepest point. I'm through.

I'm going to move the fish to the 55 gallon short term. Then over the next few weeks get rid of them.
