My Black arowana is super skittish and trys to jump out of the tank all the time. Everytime i go by the tank it goes bonker and once in awhile ill see him looking up as if he's looking for a hole to jump through. Any tips on how to get them less skittish and from trying to jump.

turn off your lights and completely wrap your tank with black. Black and silvers are known to be jumpy so theres nothing new here...

Is this a new arowana or it just suddenly started acting this way?

I think that this must be a new aro. All silvers and blacks are like this. Nothing new. My guess in getting it adjusted is to use food somehow.

THey get jumpy when they feel cramped. How big is the fish? tank?

i think just dim the lights down and let him/she that u are coming. making the tank pitch black will cause him/she to jump more from my experience with silvers. haven't tried it on the my blacks yet and don't want too.

Add some floating plastic plants, this will give it some sense of security. It may take awhile for the aro to get used to the tank. How big is the tank and the arowana, they are usually more skittish if cramped.

turn off the lights blacks and silvers always want to jump out of the tank i would add some decor in there for some hiding
