ok so last week I noticed my lab "scratching his sides"
but today I noticed one of my fish with white spot
so I need to start treatment right away and will be going to lfs asap tmmr
so right now I am going to do 50% water change, raise temp and add a bit of aquarium salt.
so will this be enough for at least 24h and if not will fungus medication help?
please help asap as I do not want my fish to die!!!!

I'm guessing this is a case of ick, very easy to treat. Just bump up temperature to 86-88. Add add the suggested salt amount for your tank and your fish are on there way to be ick-free.

well if it looks like sugar granules on the fish its ich. i would just use aquarium salt and raise your temp in the tank. just be patient and wait for it to die off-i wouldnt waste money on fungus meds or anything else.

Yup i agree thats wat i also did along with siphoning the floor of the tank every 2-3 days.

hope ur fish get well soon and good luck :)

i agree with ya cich! oh and like you said, once the ich disappears on the fish, he really needs to syphon the gravel to remove the ich cysts that are in the gravel.

do you think I should do a good cleaning now? and I am trying to find an excuse to do a resacape, and yes there are no spots visible on any fish and the fish who had it first/worse looks good!

You can vacuum. Don't rescape for now. The fish will simply be stressed further by too much movements around. Kep treating for 14 days just to be sure.
