HELP!!! Azul is dying!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah I'm soooo bummed today b/c of this. I was worrying all last week b/c he stopped eating, I kept telling myself he'd pull out of it. Makes me think twice about purchasing WC fish. I guess the lessen learned here is to treat all wild caught fish with prazipro yourself even if a "TRUSTED" vendor already claims he did and they are fine.

Interesting,I purchased a zul almost a month ago today andit has been nothing but trouble since day one.First when I got it home it looked as though it hadn't eaten in quite a while and when I removed it from the first tank I'd put it in and placed it in another, more safer tank,it seemed to stiffen up and looked like it was going to die untill I placed a powerhead to create more oxygen...Then a few weeks ago this fish had a prolapse but that went back in,then an eye clouded up but I was able to clear it...I had read your previous thread regarding your zul troubles and I got some prazi and treated it for about a week, hoping that it had a bad case of parasites.....The zul still hardly eats, only a small feeder every few days and it's body has not filled out......I bought this fish from a member who claimed to have gotten it from a friend so I don't know where it originally came from or who brought it into the country.I am thinking about trying a copper based medication at this point as Isuspect it still has some resistant parasites in it's gill/mouth area.......Sorry about your troubles and loss.

Sorry to hear that krichardson, hopefully yours pulls through man. I will miss feeding/watching this guy grow. His little brother is still alive and doing well and destroying bits of cut shrimp. The Monos on the other hand are either stressed or dying now as well b/c they stopped eating. The larger azul shared the same tank with them for over a month and they are probably infested as well. The smaller azul was moved to the QT tank on day 3 after he kept on refusing to eat. How long should I allow the medication to run its course in the tank?

damn my pbass die that same way...i dont know what its from but its when i put smaller pbass in with bigger ones and they get stressed a bit. Still doesnt make sense but i cant find the problem

bummer sounds like you were too late to treat them how far did you go in the disection makes me wonder if they got to the other internal organs other then the intestinal track i think thats when i lost my fish in the past as well
