I'm new to building sumps and I just bought this one from LFS because he said he was giving me a deal for it. Problem is I don't know how to use filter socks. I was too ashamed to ask him how I should set it up. So can someone tell me where to start to build this sump? I have already bought the necessary bulkheads and a 950 GPH pump.

Do I still need bio balls? and how should I install new acrylic sheets?

Here's the pics of it (note that there are two inputs I believe because there are two filter socks and one output at the right side of the tank):

Yes you still need bio-media. Scrubbies, Bio-balls, ceramics, Lava rock etc.

Are the acrylic sheets for dividers/baffles? Not necessarily necessary just raise the pump off the bottom an inch or two.

What are you using for an overflow?

Split the input between the two socks from the overflow.

Are you using a spray bar on the return?

If you don't mind...How much? You may not have to be embarrassed to talk to him ;).

Yeah I was planning on just doing a setup with dividers: bioballs in first, then sponge or filtermedia. But what should I put inside the socks?

Currently I don't have an overflow made for my 200 gallon because I have no where to put my 200 gallon on.

The output I have not started so if you believe a spray bar is best then I will probably get one.

I bought two sumps this one and a 20-25 Gallon for the total of $245. Initially the guy thought I was going to use the second one for a refugium and set it up for a saltwater but then i told him i was going to go freshwater then he gave me a confused look.

Sounds like a decent deal to me.
