The wood can be in a tank for years and not have this problem, and one day just begin blooming. I find this happens often when moving wood from one tank to another.

Have you guys used any algae flakes to start off your bacteria in your tank. Or have you put to much food in your tank. You might check up on that because i had that exact same thing in my tank. All I did was scrape all of it off and did a quick clean of about half of my tank. after that It never came back. It is really an ez fix.
