I have put myself in a bind with my 585s filtreation I was planning on using 55s for th sump. I have 3 55s now sitting in my basement. I find out that they have tempered panels all around. GREAT!!!
SO now I can't drill them.
So I was wondering since I still want to use them. Can this be done to salvage them.
Can you replace a tempered panel from a 55 with same tickness acrylic? so that way it is easy to drill? or will acrylic and glass not bond properly.
If they will work will Dow corning 832 work ? I have heard good things about it and wish to use it if I can find it.
If I can just replace one side panel from each tank with acrylic I am set and I won't have to buy any hole saws that I don't allready have. If I cann't do this I have to find a new home for these 55s and find a new tank to work with. Like a 45.
The tanks have to stay 12" wide to clear the doors in the stand. Or I would use one big tank in the first place.
So Can a tempered glass panel from a 55 gal be replaced with a same thickness acrylic panel?
Again HELP PLZ. I put myself into a bind
