I'm a noob and I have been treating my FW with internal parasites for a month now. I used api general cure, epsom salt, and increased the temp. We went through the no eating stage, hole in the head, and rectal prolapse. I dosed with general cure 3 times (1 dose a week) and decided to stop the meds (which treated the hole in the head) and rely on epsom salt and heat. His intestine went in just recently and finally ate a bloodworm yesterday (which I was stoked about). After a month of stressing over this little guy and almost losing hope when he looked like he wouldn't make it, he is finally gaining his energy and color... charging at the tank when I'm nearby, glows, swims near my finger, etc.

... but, he only eats bloodworms and still poops white. I have tried soaking pellets in bloodworm juice. He just simply spits it out. I feed him very little because I'm still treating him with an epsom salt bath. I want to be sure that he is completely recovered. Could I soak some epsom salt on the bloodworms? Any inputs? Thanks so much!

Forgot to mention that I have tried force feeding the 3% epsom salt solution method but it didn't work out and I'll never try that on my own ever again. :thumbsdow
I do a 30-40% water change every 3 days.

Try "clear". Since your in cali you can order from aquacraze.com. There is a video on youtube of how to use. If you don't fix white poop he's probably going to go down hill again

Shoot, I was hoping I wouldn't have to end up forcing meds into his gut. I don't have the balls to do so. :( But thanks for the tip. I definitely can't handle him going downhill again.

In addition to his excessive and really long poop from the epsom salt, he also spit some out. Is that normal?... Is that a sign that his body is getting rid of the parasites or something?

I am not familier with clear. If the only thig he's eatin is blood worms he will excreat the exoskelten as white feces so I wouldn't use that as a barometer. Try soaking some pellets in garlic, fresh garlic (not bottled or anyother form) smashed and let the pellets sit in the chopped smashed garlic for about 30 mins then offer him one.

smash garlic really fine, and mix it with thawed BWs. Then mix and let sit for a long while to marinade and dry. Then feed those BWs to your fish.

When your fish still eat, it's easy. Just blend garlic with watever they eat

I tried mixing the pellets with the bloodworms. He would keep it in his mouth for 30 seconds to separate the worms from the pellets. Haha stubborn little guy... but I'm out of luck. He stopped eating bloodworms. I'll try one last dose of meds. If that doesn't do much I'll rely on his immune system, salt, heat, and clean water to kick those parasites in the ass. Thanks for the great advice guys! Hopefully my baby will eventually look as epic as all of yours! :headbang2

Actually... He is still swimming and active. Maybe I should just let him fight it off? Here's a video of him.
