Help? Completely eliminating hex? - New Member

I had to force feed my flowerhorn metro and had never done so before. I didn't know what I was doing but went ahead anyway. Just when I thought all was lost my boy turned around and pulled through. Never heard about "clear" and I live by aquacraze. One thing I do know is they've got the flowerhorn game down cold. So with that I would say this "clear" stuff is probably your best bet.

I also live near aquacraze. Did you have to buy a syringe? I tried to look for those long skinny ones at 3 stores and I was told I had to have a special order for them.

I jacked a syringe from the kids ibuprofen kit. Then I attached about 3 inches of airline tubing to it and Bob's your uncle.

If the only thig he's eatin is blood worms he will excreat the exoskelten as white feces so I wouldn't use that as a barometer.

I would strongly suggest that you re-read that comment posted by Aquanero before you medicate with any form of harsh meds.

Hexamita - which is actually a form of Spironucleus sp, has been around a hell of a lot longer than the 20 something kids that are breeding flowerhorns these days. Unless someone can actually tell you what the active medicinal ingredients are in a product, then I would personally advise staying "clear" of it.

Ah okay thank you for both replies! He coughed out a couple of small white puffs with probably half an inch of some red thing inside. I'm thinking it's the bloodworms from last week.
Also... he has some squirmy thing (what looks to me) in his cheeks. It is only visible under a light and at an angle when he moves his eyes. I am not sure if that is just a part of their cheeks (Lol). But anyway, he is still energetic and swims to me when I'm near the tank. Again, thank you all for the responses.

I forgot all about this post but... he is completely treated. It took a few months for him to get back to normal but with persistence he is finally living a healthy life and eating regularly. :-) Thanks for the replies, I've learned so much.
