X24;2011258; said:You thought macs were virus proof? Its possible for any computer connected to the internet to get a virus. While the older macs were pretty much non-targets for virus's since they held very little market share, the new macs especially on OSX since its Unix based, are threatened by viruses. Not quite as threatened as windows users, but they still can get virus's. Same goes with Linux distributions, they also can get virus's.
Your best bet with any sort of computer is to always assume you can get a virus and run virus scans at least once a week. I personally have my virus scanner to run once every day at 4:00 a.m.
