i have 2 females and 1 male black convict in my 10gallon planted.. i go to do a water change and notice some rocks moved... In the back right corner is 1 female guarding about 30+ eggs
and than in the back left corner is a male guarding 20+ eggs...

what are the odds there from a different mom?

and should i take out the convicts? or leave them in there?? 1 female is staying far away from both sides. i have 4 golden algee eaters in there

what should i do agh!

You have spawned them in the past right?

no... :(

i'm confused on the part that they laid eggs in 2 diff places. and i think 1 of the females dident la the eggs so should i take her out? or should i take them all out!?

aLSO I'VE BEN CRUSHING UP OMEGA 1 FLAKES FOR THE parents to eat sence there 1" or so. sorry for the capps...
would that be safe for the fry to eat or do i have to get something diff...
and should i leave the golden algee eaters in grr...

1st of all congrats! but isnt a 10 kinda small to breed convics? anyways If I were you I would sit down for my 5 minutes looking at the tank and find the female that is not garding the eggs, I mean that has been casted away and take her out of the tank along with the scavengers. However since there are 2 females and one male it could just be best to leave them (the convicts) in there. As you can see I dont clearly know the answer to your question, so I suggest you just sit still and someone with much more experience on breeding convicts will help you out( we have plenny of them in this site)

Thanks :) i think it happend today. there are no white eggs all are yellowish/tan looking and i agree a 10gallon is small but there 1" and i just put them in cuz my 20gallon is re cycling.

The algee eaters dont really go near the eggs, but sence its a planted tank the fish have so many places to hide. at the top of the water , there is alota plants and same with the bottom.. im so exsited right now, but i dont know anything about this lmao

I have a 120gallon ( cant put anything else in)
a 75gallon with a pleco and goldfish
29gallon cycling with goldfish
and a 20gallon cycling with goldifsh..

so idk :(

I had a pair that I kept in 5 gallon that I spawned to feed small pirahnas, no problem

I had asked you before if you were successful spawning them you said:

"haha yea... i only saved 2 of them the outhers got aten :( i guess that happens when they first do it.. and i have to disagree with the males not having red or pink what ever u color u said..

All my black convicts look exactly the same to me exsept on a couple theres red dots and on the outhers its not dots just red"

This was supposed to be in a 20 gallon you had set up for breeding.:D

mhm that was my bro.. hes spawned them and got aten so he gave them to me, we share the account.

so should i just leave everything in there or what? also what should i feed the baby fry when they hatch if they do.

i guess ill wait till the fry hatch, than when they are free swimming, ill take out all 3 cons if i can and ill try catching the algee eaters.
