my dat was sick about 2 weeks ago so i isolated him in one part of the tank. i treated the tank with prrrr..... (a liquid against parasites) he was doing better but 3 days ago he started just laying on his side , breathing normally but still on his side at the bottom of the tank, he is eating but when he goes to get the food he swims but instantly sinks like a rock , what do i do about that how can i help him ? i don't want to kill him. I'm just hoping he will get better on his own.....

Sounds like (as above stated) a swim bladder infection, or issue. But it is impossible to recommend treatment without a true diagnosis. Treatments are usually a form of poison or an antibiotic, and using the wrong one can be as lethal as the problem. Using an antibiotic on a virus creates super bugs in your tank, using an anti-parasitic (a poison) in a non-parasite situation is is just as meaningless.
Some ailments like ich, are easy to diagnose and thereby easy to treat, others are a mystery unless seen by an experienced aquatic vet.

It's mostly likely a swim bladder problem. Sometimes the temperature of the tank being too low will affect the bladder. If that's the case, sometimes antibiotic may help with bringing the temperature back up. Good Luck.

What species datnoid? some require brackish water, and if yours is in entirely fresh water, it could be having osmoregulation problems, that migh manifest itself in swim bladder failure.

my AT Dat is about 3 years old his/her siblings are the same age but show no signs of this problem ! temps are up to 80-82 water changes 2x week @ 50%
