I have one last method that worked for me, and i really only advise it as a last result and under very close supervision. I put in an oscar who was smaller than the biggest dat to be the number one contender for dominance. The goal was to let the focus of the dominant dats be on the oscar. in my case the oscar ended up being the alpha and all the dats fell in line. I was lucky and the oscar never really even had to fight for his status and nobody was ever injured. The oscar would just make his presecnce known by attempting to lip lock with the dats..lol. or he would kind of just shove them around whenever they would start to fight. Dat fighting went from non-stop to none not just between the big guys, but with all the dats. Every dat (or any fish) i introduced into the community went in pretty much without a hitch as long as that Oscar was around.
