alright so heres my questin... and my tank info.. well i have a 40 gal breeder heavily planted and im trying to set up an amazon theme, but where i live my water is very hard, acline, so i wan to decrease my ph ive tryed peat moss, drift wood, oak, almond leaves, wich have slight effects so i was thinking instead having to boil all my tank water to reduce the aclinity or buy water or an RO system i was thinking to justr add acid.. so what if i were to squeeze a lemon into my tank? would it elp or hinder? the juice rotting is not a problem bc my plants consume all harmful nutriants in the water. any imput? willl fresh lemon, orange or other juice help my problem it would be a natural cure

my bad i ment 40 gallon breeder and no im not gonna pay for water nor a $100 RO system, my question is on wearther the juice will work?

oh. not sure on tha juice big dog. someone may know. also what fish are they? they sell buffer for ph. to your select level

yes it can add up. where did you find an RO machiene for 100 buks? im lookin for one and they are around 250

well i hadnt seen one that cheap but ur just provin my point, dont want t waist $for no reason i aready spend $100-$200 a month on food for my fish

Is your kH is very high, you can add all the acid you want and it still isn't going to give you what you are looking for. Have you tested your kH and Gh?

ihavnt tested my kh nor gh but my aclinity is high so than my kh should be high as well. but your kh is generally considered temperate so i feel if i add the acid plus let my plants eat up the potassium iron and zinc in the water than it shpuld be lowered
