I would say 3 times a minutes is to much.

I agree with the above. Once in a while is nothing to worry about, but regularly is not good.

some dats I had in 1 specific tank use to do it to much for me to feel comfortable. I threw another filter on, and never saw them do it again.

but how much is too much? maybe a tricky question to answer but still.. is 10 times a day to much? 5?

For me 5-10 times a day is to much. Others may say its not to much, but my thinking is that the fish is doing it because something is bothering it, so its better to correct it rather then try and figure out how many flicks on a rock over the coarse of a day is ok.

How long have you had it?
Any salt in your tank?

mkai.. I've had him for about 3 weeks 2,5" long.. just got him interested in frozen food that he did eat and spit before.. when i'm in the room he spends most of the time just behind the glass "begging".. no salt what so ever in the tank, but I tasted tasted the water in the bag he came in from the grossist and that water was a tiny bit salt.. so there might have been an acclimationissue.. he does not dip at night from what i've seen atleast..

yes I always taste the water when I order fish.. this may sound strange.. ..but.. many of the grossists keep fish in a bit of salt.. therefor I like to know if the fish is "salted".. if the water is salt I will definitely quaranteen it and keep a real close eye on it.. basically the lesser salt the better fish.. but could someone please answer my question? =D after this i'll be know as "the strange guy".. haha.. I see nothing strange with his geels or any other signs of illness..

up up my dat flashes but it's only him in the tank that does..dosed it with melafix but i'm afraid to dose it with anti parasite cause of my FRT and lung..
