HELP EELS HAVE DIED...what about the rest?

hi,
basically i came home today to find my fire eel dead, was upset but thought, as it had been partially eaten, someone had just got the better of it. but then iv just noticed my spiny eel in exactly the same place as i found my fire eel, but not touched by anyone else.

basically iv tried in vain to do a water change but im having my kitchen and bathroom redone and basically cant do it except with cups as everything else is in storage. so did possibly a 1% w/c...theres only so much u can do with a cup.

unable to do a water test as my test kit is rubbish and i dont fully understand it.

i fed them earlier so have removed any extra shrimp.

my spotted raphael doesnt seem too bright either.

WHAT CAN I DO???

oh and iv cleaned my filter just in case it was clogged...it wasnt. added extra air.
im at a complete loss.

hun i know you said you dont have a hose, but maybe you can get one from the shops, it will cost you a couple of quid. other than big waterchanges i dunno what else you can do. didnt you say that the builder didnt use any chemicals or anything and your room was closed right. so if thats the case...and they died before feeding...also no signs of how..i have no idea. why dont you try opening hte last one up? you could see if anything happened inside.

As for causes, besides the typical "check your parameters" advice I really have nothing.

All i could think of is that they fought, bad, and one was weakened after being the victor and succumbed to it's injuries.

I had a TT with a fire and as soon as one hit sexual maturity it whacked the other one, dead...

hun what test kit do you have? i have api master test kit, they are easiest ones to understand. are yours test strips?

i wouldnt no the diff tbh. i did think about that but i just have no idea what im doing. the others seem to b doing fine so far .
yep im guna get a hose 2mo and a new syphon coz my one conveniently packed up. hence EMPTYING water with my little bone china tea cup and REFILLING with my little bone china tea cup lol.
the way i see it is my Ghost Knife isnt dead and she is usually the first to get effected if i mess up the tank...luckily iv always managed to save her but still. shes fine so im just not sure whats up.

its weird how you lost the two eels though, so it must be something in the water that is only affecting them. i mean are any of the other fish acting weirdly?

yea sucks big time.
well i got/ had a spiny, fire and peacock. cant fin the peacock but hes always hidden. i think the only reason the fire was partially eaten was not coz he was attacked but because he must have been dead for a while and the others just had a nibble.

i have a 5in1 tetra kit. i didnt realise the importance of them when i got it lol so just got the cheapest and yea they r test strips.
yea i duno what it could b effecting them.
i thought one of the spotted raphaels was dodgy but he just couldnt hide properly in his bogwood so went in a funny angle.
