HELP extremely urgent, im very worried

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I take tails and the whole shell out.but, as stated, Rallysman's had bad luck, the tail must have goten exactly to the place it damaged something..a lot of others showed no problem whatsoever..

and tha gasping may just be a sensation of your "stressed" mind ( i am not joking, seriously ) your comprehensible nervousness may make you see a phenomenon which is normal in an exagerated way...

keep us posted...

he ate the tail wed. and its sat. he is still gasping noticeably, normally he would barely move his mouth but is now opening and closing it every breath.

the only thing inconcistent with ascites is he still has full finnage.

i tried feeding him chicken which he would NEVER refuse and looked minorly iterested at first but then ignored me all together.

update on him, this morning his the only improvment i have seen, no gasping and cruising the surface

and today? how is it?

posture is a little more normaland breathing stable but still hasnt eaten... e cruises the surface then once i put food in front of his mouth he bumps into it then sinks out... i will try later tonight..... hmmmm maybe some feeders

Guys i really am worried that i may lose my silver to ascites. I know rallys black died from it and i am now scared my silver will.

It is always my upmost priority to keep my fish well and theres noting i can do now.... i belive there still is hope but i need to hear u guys and if any of ur guys' fish have pulled through such a stupid mistake.

I was feeding ol puff the magic dragon fish my 24" silver some shrimp and i always take the tail off b4 i drop it in his mouth. I pinch off the tail then hold all of them in my hand with my middle ring and pinky finger curled up around the tails and use my thumb and pointer to feed, bleieve it or not when my aro came over for a piece i dropped a tail in his mouth too! not a HUGE tail like some of those freshwater shrimps, like a 3/4 inch long one.

i freaked and even tryed grabbing it out of his mouth and he just cruised away and swallowed it. directly after swallowing he ate some silver sides because i know if a dog swallows bones u feed him as much food as u can to pad his stomach. So i did that but the day after he swallowed it he began gasping a LITTLE bit and would come to my finger some times but not eat... same deal this mornig which means if he doesnt eat today it will be day three after the insident... im worried that his appetite being gone and gasping is directly related to the tail...

has anyone elses arowana eaten a shrimp tail and lived to tell the tail... SHOULD I BE PREPARING A COFFIN!!!

we dont know what killed levi's aro, the tail is only a speculation, but i highly doubt the tail is what killed it.

i wouldnt worry about the shrimp tail.

he finally ate yesterday..... and to say the least i am relieved but still scared a little bit considering rallys aro ate for a period of time before floating....

but he ate some silversides and chicken and even some shrimp today!

his eating pattern is far from normal.... he is reluctant once he swims over to my hand but eventually opens wide... thanks for the confidence guys i certainly didnt have it..
