If only they were RAY proof....... I'm scared to turn the poor guy loose in the big tank for fear the rays will chew him up just like so many other fish they've killed.
It should be ok. I remember seeing Seichi posted a pix of his small aimara and big ray together. Aimara is quite active and know how to take care of itself.
How many of you saying "it will be fine" have experience with hungry 20+" disc rays?????
My lil 9-10 Leohen has no problems pinning the Aimara, you can't honestly believe a ray double the size needed to pin him down is gonna just let him go after pinning him.
This big girl easily took the head off a 13-14" gar. I was under the impression that Gar's armor was quite the task to get through. Didn't stop this girl. After the head was gone she continued to make a mess of the rest. Gar armour < Big ray. I would suspect the same result when the Aimara gets pinned.
I'd love to hear of others' experiences with Aimara and rays..... Problem is there isn't anybody doing it. The only trace of any signs of the combo are from Seichi. That experience is subject to relevance, as Falkneri and Marbles don't have the same temperment. My Marbles are mean. Much more aggressive then other rays I've kept. Not sure IF you could even house Falks with them, I'm having a hell of a time trying to get my blackies to keep up with the Marbles at feeding time.
