Should I let them together everyday so they get used to seeing eachother, or leave they apart but able to see eachother and breed through the divider or lastly let the together when the females tube is showing or when she lays eggs.
They do most of this but I can't hear the bites. They don't look too hard a no real damage is done. I'll definitely separate them when I go on vacation. For head to head, every now and the they go for a lip lock that last less than a second. Also the female might chase or follow him and go for a light bite/kiss/nudge on the face around the gill and he either turns into her, bump heads a stop or he turns, she moves to his underside below gill and he does a 360 flip with a turn and she stops.
I'm taking the risk of keeping them together tonight. The tank is in my room so hopefully and thing too violent and harmful to the fish will wake me up.
