I realize you pm'd me asking but I don't really know how to answer that question. Because I don't know the answer. But if I had to make a guess I would say no the white eggs shouldn't be manually removed. But I'm kinda torn because the white eggs will rot and eventually develop fungus. Which could theoretically spread to the fertile Eggs. But if your cichlids are good parents they might do it (remove them) themselves. I had a german ram pair and they spawned and the female ate the white eggs. On her own.

**And the pair should eventually move the nest (usually right after hatching or when their just breaking out of the shell). Just a heads up. So if you wake up and don't see any eggs anymore they either were ate or the nest was moved. I woke up and litterally freaked 'omg what happened to the eggs?!' I don't want that to happen to you. Oh and also I find jack dempsies tend to move the wrigglers on top of a gravel pit they've dug. Camouflaged VERY well. Might take 20 mins of staring in 1 spot to actually see the babies.

Oh and jacks are normally very good parents. Like convicts. So ur at maybe a 60-40 chance of the female cleaning up the white eggs and fanning and stuff. With the odds in your favor. But by observing her in action I could immediately tell you whether or not she's a good parent. Observation is key. You should be able to do it. Look for things like
1) is she protecting the eggs?
2) does she ever leave the nest?
3) is she fanning the eggs?
4) does she appear to be picking at the nest with her mouth and picking up debris...etc
5) what is the male doing? Does he appear to be moving gravel with his mouth? Or digging? This could mean he's setting up another nest.

You can leave the white ones.. If you try to remove them it may stress the parents into eating all the good ones. Just cross your fingers they don't get fungus and it spreads to your good eggs. Let the eggs hatch where they are and you can remove the fry when they get moved by the parents. I usually only do meth blue if I have taken the eggs from the parents. Good luck

Here's the instructions, when they hatch send them to me.

No really, its too late IMO and IME to move the eggs. You could relocate the eggs, or divide the little section where the eggs are, or let nature take its course. If you choose to go with the latter, I'd relocate the wigglers once out. Use at least 50% or more of the parent water for the new fry growout tank. But first weigh your options, is it worth your time? Do you even have the time?

Thanks for all the information from everyone. I really hope I have a good batch from these great looking parents. I plan to grow them all out to at least a couple inches. Hope I get lots and lots of fry.
