any suggestions on a good surface fish for a 75 gallon? the only surface fish i ever owned were a arow for my large tank and a butterfly fish along time ago. what is some good surface fish that grow maybe 5-12 inches? thanks in advance

Pink Tailed Chalceus stays at the top mostly, false needlenose gar and marbled gar both are not gars but labled in most LFS as such.
what kind of fish is Pink Tailed Chalceus? are they found in most lfs? they look like they will fit the bill if i can find some.
ya i just wasnt thinking. i know of all these fish mentioned and dont really like any except the Pink Tailed Chalceus and dont about availability.
Giant danios and personally I like rainbows.. I have 8 Parkisoni Rainbows that school really nicely... and stay mostly at the top of the tank...
The Petland closest to me in Ohio has Pink Tailed Chalceus all the time, 7" around $28.99. Also ask when they will get the next arrivals at that fish place. http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod/213776/product.web You can also ask the owner of a LFS if they special order fish, sometime stores don't like to keep "oddball" or expensive fish just incase they can't sell them, that doesn't mean they can't get them. I've found that out by asking about bichirs, they only stock senegals but can order just about any variety of them.
