I have a 300 wide (96x30x24) that I'm looking to add to the stocklist. Currently I have

8 Angelfish, adult size
9 Geophagus Orange Head Tapajos, not quite adult size
1 Male Hystrix ray

So there's lots of room left, although I like the understocked look.

I was looking to get maybe a pair of CA/SA cichlids but not sure what would go best with my existing stock. I'm not overly familiar with these cichlids but I know the common ones. I saw a green terror that looked awesome so that got me thinking. I know green terror won't work but what else could in a peaceful community?

If you could include pictures with your suggestions that would be great.

kelberi are awesome, that is if you dont mind your angels becoming expensive feeders when they get older haha.

I know, Cichla would be cool but for now I'm sticking with the peaceful community... I just don't know enough about the great variety out there and was hoping for some suggestions. Will be picking up a book on cichlids but I wanted to hear some first hand experience what people might suggest.

If you are aiming for peaceful, how about a school of clown loaches? ~12 or so would look sick imo

Again, cool fish, but I'm looking for mid level swimmers. Got the ground covered....

Any cool cichclid recommendations out there?

Uaru?
????

Severum? Viejas?

Alot of beautiful Cichlids are aggresive what about climbing perch or 100 neons lol

Sent from my Sony Tablet S using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

Viejas sounds interesting... and 100 neons may work if I decide to stick with Amazons. My angels would go crazy and they'd likely be gone quick though.

C'mon knowledgeable CA/SA cichlid people I want to learn more about these fish and what might work in my tank!

Cichla are peaceful. Just big and hungry.
