My Midas seems to be having problems swimming. Right now he is sitting at the top, looking at me, but then he will try to change his position, and he is bumping into the glass and the bottom, and once on the bottom seems to have a hard time getting back up. Help??? I simply do not want to lose this fish! Have had him for 6 years and he is simply the most awesome fish I have ever had! Anyone with ideas???

Definitely looks bloated and it seems to be affecting his swim bladder. I would start by adding 1-2 tablespoons of epsom salt per 5 gallons. If you have frozen peas you can shell them and see if he will eat them.

Thanks. I will try epsom salt. Did a 50% water change this morning. Will do daily until he gets better. Will also get some frozen peas. Thanks for your reply!

Ok, did a 50% water change this morning, just put in 1 tbsp of epsom salt to each 5 gallons (75 gallon tank). Forgot to get frozen peas, but figure I can get them tomorrow or monday since he isn't eating right now anyways. How many days should I do the salt, before I up it to 2 tablespoons, if it isn't working? Thanks for suggestions. Me and Knothead really appreciate the help!

so, he doesn't seem to be having the swimming problem now, however, now his skin looks like it is burnt and peeling, and he is breathing hard?? Help???? Anyone??? Thanks! Pics attached....
