I'm really sorry to hear he passed. Can I ask where did these 3 babies come from? You bred him with a female before his passing and only 3 fry survived?

yeah only three because the other eggs didn't hatched because the my male flower horn was too big for the pot that i was using for the eggs..nope it was before he got sick like he was doing fine and i even bred them 3 times already but the 1st 3rd breeding wasn't successful.

Typically when keeping fish one uses water test kits to make sure the water is safe for the fish. One such kit is the API Master Kit http://www.amazon.com/API-Freshwater-Master-Test-Kit/dp/B000255NCI
It will allow you to test for Ph, Ammonia, Nitrate and Nitrite. Humpy Head is an average pellet and is okay but you might be able to find better for cheaper with a little research. Filtration is what you use to keep the aquarium waters Nitrites and Ammonia under control and you use water changes to keep Nitrates under control. I only use water pump filters and the ones with the suction thing for it to stick on any side of the tank.. and what was that sumps and Fluidized bed filters do? haven't really understand what you meant heheheh

You didn't mention it as the cause for treatment you mentioned worms first as the reason for moving him. Again a better description and pics would help, so if you ever face an issue with disease again please try to be more descriptive and use pictures so we can help you as best as we can. As for using Petroleum Jelly I said it last time I don't know why you would use it on your fish. Petroleum Jelly is used as a lube and as far as treating an injury at best it serves to soothe burn and the like as far as I know. You would be better served using a Triple Antibiotic like I said in my last post for an injury but Again I wouldn't suggest it without knowing more.

Yes a filtration system is the same as a filtering system it just refers to a device that filters aquarium water to remove pollutants that build up due to fish waste, respiration, etc, etc. You say you have water pumps. What do you mean? Can you provide a link to what you bought? Sumps and Fluidized Bed Filters are just another form of "filtering system". I apologize for our poor communication, I'm doing the best that I can to be understandable.
