  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My boas all got them a couple weeks ago.
provent-a-mite works wonders, if you do get this spray read the directions fully.
Your lucky you cought them when you did mites can suck a snake dry.
And bath water if its hot to you its very hot to them and you can use a mild soap.

`sigh`..can't believe some of what i've read here..makes me sad.

do NOT spray the snake with any commercial mite/tick chemicals, they will either kill or severely harm the snake. i would suggest provent-a-mite. remove the snake and treat the enclosure. read this http://lllreptile.com/info/library/care-and-husbandry-articles/-/dealing-with-snake-mites/

i consider myself incredibly lucky to have never had a snake with mites in the 12 years i have had snakes in my home.

We have used Reptile Relief by Natural Chemistry at work a couple of times and it has worked. Just make sure that you follow the directions. While treating the snakes I suggest using paper towels for substrate, until you know that the mites are gone. It is much easier to clean. I always get the heebeegeebees when we get them at work that I won't even go near my sons snake as not to give it to him. I make sure I clean my hands thoroughly after touching the work snakes.
