hey guys, im new to this site but i was wonedering if anyone has seen this? he has been doing this for about 7 days.
i been keeping this ray for about a month nowand all last week he has been fliping upside down and staying like this untill i flip him back over then he seems fine? also he curls his disk up then down for a couple of hours then stops and acts fine? should i be worried?my wc is good and stable, i cant work it out ...plz check the vid i put on you tube ,
link is as follows

thanks guys

that is really bad. it would be a miracle if that ray lives.

He looks to be in poor health he has a very skinny tail. i would double check water parameters. make sure you dont have any ammonia or nitrite.

Has he eaten? what have you fed? any leftover food in the tank?

thats the strange thing he eats like a champ, never and leftovers (if they are the tank mates get it)the only info i could find is that sharks and ray can go into a trance state when flipped over?and he has being doing this sstrange stuff for over a week. it seems like he is off balance for a while and when he swims he will crash land and roll over and not move .
i left him over for about an 30mins to see ifhe could flip back but didn't.
another time he did flip back and carried on as per usual..
when he is not being strange9witch is like 3 hrs of the day he acts like a normal ray with lots of personalty crusing, hunting, coasting the water filter flow

he will only eat live (blood works) atm (thats what they feed him and his siblings at thr pet shop, and still do) i showed them this vid as well and they cant explain it either? i have tryed to feed him white fish prawns and pellets but wont touch them

also he will eat as soon as i flip him over ?

hope is is ok :(

Definitely check the water parameters.

Curling is never good or a ray staying at the top for prolonged periods of time, usually it has to do with bad water parameters... did you test everything? What are the readings?

Also is his disk pink or inflamed?

That seems very strange, at first I was going with that ray is dead! then when he flipped over all seemed more or less normal, if this has been going on for a week that is very odd, seem not super skinny but I would suggest feeding more food, not fat either, does he ever get a huge hump on his back from eating?? Have you tried to feed him Earth worms or night crawlers as another type of food. What tank temp? ph?,ammonia? Nitrates? Do you have an air pump or good air flow going throught the tank? Last water Change?

Only other though at the moment is that he is like me and likes to sleep on his back ;)

my laptop is going flat guys thanks for the help and geting back to me so fast , what a great site.. i get my charger tomorrow and will check back in with all the details of w.q and no his disk is normal i think.(would it help if i put another vid up of him to see more behaviour )?
thanks again guys .
hopefully he makes it another night
