I have been battling hole in the head for a while now. It has spread to other fish. Some of them also have fin rot. I am currently using EM erythromycin and metro to deal with these issues. I turned my UV sterilizer off. I have chemipure in my filters. I was wondering if those should be removed as well.

Remove the Chmi-pure it is carbon and resins the carbon is removin the medication so you are effectivly not treating them at all. Can you give your water peramerts? It is o know along with Ph and hardness if available to determine the correct medication.

Removed all chemi pure. Have a power head running and much aeration. Will put up water parameters when I get home.

Ph is 7.8 ammonia 0-.25 nitrite 0 nitrate 0-5 but very low. I can't test hardness I dot have anything for that.

Large amounts of clean water and Metro for th HITH. The fin Rot should clear up with pleanty of clean water while doing a water change vacume the gravel.

Im following the directions for EM erythromycin from API. I have metro from seachem I think. How much should I be putting in the tank? Ill vacuum gravel when I do that 25% WC.

Personally I've never seen much anymore that EM really does well with. Tom is spot on with treatment on his advice.

The directions for the medication calls for a 25% WC should I do a bigger one? I'm doing it today. Also how much metro should I be using(in grams in possible)? And aquarium salt ok to add?
