Help!! I Broke it

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
project tank...wanted to start clean with factory seals...built in tank with background..wanted to do it right .voided warranty removing top anyways so thats not gonna fly lol...screw it ill patch it and edge will be covered with molding anyways....im going to experiment with .040 aluminum extrusion on the corner, bonded with GE sil 1, top to bottom , between glass and trim ...ill mock it up tomorrow after work and post pic for opinions...

did u try filling it with water? i have a few tanks like that that still hold.
i would just tape it down tightly with a transparent piece of tape

going to silicone this on when i reinstall top..plan to put a wider bead on inside corner when i put 3d background in...my thinking is this will physically hold silicone and glass chip in place... if it leaks ill throw the tank out w/ background tear out knee wall and built in stand and get a damn dog....shortest return to a hobby ever...all i wanted was my dream tank...compromised on 75g(wanted 120g) but didnt want to worry about used tank leaking ...been there before...ironic? :screwy:

im guessing thats a metal corner strip? that looks like it would work. while your doing that why not do the other corners as well? to make them look nice. sorry for getting back so late i would do the glass piece on the inside if you were planning to fix it.

I have chips like that in my 60 gallon tank, two even. I asked about this around the internet fourms and people say chips will be okay. It has been a year already and no issues. But that is just me, other people might say it is dangerous.

BTW - I have clear plastic corner strips on all my tanks. You hardly notice them. They provide some protection from corner chips.
