Help!! I Don't know what's wrong

My Red tail cat starting loading skin and I thought he was scratching it off but I realized he is not and I don't know what's going on or what to do I don't have the test to check the water but if u could look and see what u think that would be great.

Ammonia burn is my guess, uncycled tank is the usual culprit

Do a quick wc with prime add some aeration. Get a test kit quick. Good luck!

No offense man but your water looks terrible, something like that would take quite a while to get that bad.

definitely the worst looking water I have seen in a tank. If it's not ammonia burns it could be heater burns. 80-90% water changes every 1-2 days, Stress coat, and salt, then Melafix once your water has good parameters, is my advice. DOn't forget to use Dechloriniator every water change, chlorine and chloramine will only make the burns worse

thats not heater burn. What are the water parameters? Can you get the fish out of that tank to a quarantine tank? She needs clean water and may need antibiotics.
