help i might lose my whole tank

i know im not mad its just and accident and i do have 2 discus that turned black and they are the most healthy BD ive ever seen i hope they dont die

If a discus is very dark, it is showing severe stress. If severe enough, it won't recover. BDs are somewhat more sensitive to water quality than some of the other strains anyway. I would suggest keeping the water extremely clean, temp. at 86 F to counter disease, and hope for the best.

None that I know of. Even if a rare black comes, the breeder might freak out and consider it a cull instead maybe due to the norm black discus are very stressed fish with no more chances of surviving. I wonder if this actually happened before.

Yeah I was kind of thinking the same thing lol. At the level they are produced I'm sure it has to have happened and was probably culled.

Black with red eyes would be awesome though.

On some black lava sand with nice dark drfit wood and a shoal of rummynose. awwwweee yeah

Yeah that's all you really can do. Unfortunately, like hillbilly said, when discus reach a certain point they just wither away.

Best thing to do would be to keep changing water -- say 50% each day. You may want to run some chemical filtration media too (Purigen or Polyfilter would be best, but carbon would help too).

It is very tough to eliminate any kind of soap from media.
