HELP: I think my Beani has Bloat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
how is he doing???? give us a update.

Sorry guys. He seems to be doing ok I guess. No signs of white poop thus far. He killed the 4 cons that I put in the tank as dithers. Another member suggested that I try danios or something smaller, so that if he kills/catches them there's a greater chance that he'll eat them. I tryed that out and he ate 1 1/2 of the danios. I took the rest out because I didn't want to risk him getting bloat if he didn't have it already. I quit the clout treatment about a week ago and am now doing a metro treatment just as a precautionary measure. Been doing 50 percent waterchanges every 2 days and am keeping the temp at 84. Hopefully when I'm done with the metro he'll have some interest in eating. Thanks for the concern.

Oh, and reguarding my nitrite levels, cchhcc, you're right. My nitrite test kit was old. It doesn't make sense to me either. I was more concerned with getting the fish healthy. I was a little frantic, as I'm sure you can understand, and I didn't really pay much attention to that. I neet to go out and get me a new one this weekend.

Well, I got some good news. He finally ate pellets yesterday. It wasn't much, but he's showing interest in eating, which is AWSOME. Thanks everyone for all your help. It is greatly appreciated. Just hearing how sensative beani's can be got me really nervous and impatient when he wasn't eating for me. Thanks again.
