HELP! Ich and fungus!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah, gonna have to try something else, cause this is not good.

my ammonia is up so I am doing a PWC right now to get that down.

Update: I already had the Ich Guard and as of today used the second dose. I already have it and will see if it works. My tank is at 88F finally.

Tetra are dealing fine. Except the sick ones.
Four Line Pictus at this time both seem to be doing very well.
Clown Loaches - All of them are out today, they are stressed. Full of ich but not as bad as my spotted pictus were hit for sure. They are still active. 1 Clown Loach though is worse then all the others and starting to have stringy stuff come off him.
Pleco shows no signs of problems

I lost all 4 pictus today, 1 bleeding heart and 1 serpae tetra.

1 more serpae tetra was struggling to I moved him so a 1 gallon he has improved so far and looks better.

Ammonia got to .5 so I did a 79% pwc and dropped it. It may of been from the 4 pictus cats passing.

2 bleeding heart tetras left (they were hit the hardest) one seems to be looking better, the other is going down hill yet.

I am so confused. My water was great so it wasnt bad water that brought this on. It amazes me how bad this is taking over even though I have been treating it. *sigh*

What else can I do?

I had this exact thing happen to me a couple weeks ago. It hit pretty hard, killing both my RD and Raphael Cat, although I first had fungus. I added Pimafix to my tank as directed (took out all carbon) an then added 1 TBS of aquarium salt as directed on my salt container. I also raised the temp to about 82 degrees because it was 78 and I didn't want to over do it...

I wanted to use Ick medicine, but the stuff I had couldn't be mixed with the Pimafix and I didnt want anything else to go wrong, although I was on the verge of buying Ick medication that was made by the same complany as Pimafix which could go with it.

Then it slowly went away. It took a total of about 1 1/2 weeks... Now I am waiting a few weeks to make sure it is all gone...

Hope this helps. :)

if you have ammonia, the best thing to do is stop feeding.

don't start making big water changes, leave the fishes alone.

sometimes the more you do, the worst it gets. it's what I call "caring too much".

I havent given my fish food since Sat or sun so it is not food causing the ammonia it is what I think dead fish. My tank just stinks of dead fish. I have lost 15 of them.

This is not just ich, it is something else too. Bigger update coming soon.
