HELP! ick in my planted tank!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Actually they temp needed to stop most strains from reproducing is over 86 F, also using to little salt means most of the parasites survive and you end up selecting for a salt resistant strain.
As long as you have no loaches or mormyrid, scaleless fish, or shrimp you could use Quick-cure, Rid-ich+, or Super Ich Cure.

so guppy, can i turn my heater up to 86 then? or will that cook my fish? i have a loach so i don't want to use any of the products you mentioned. so far i've slowly added in salt and my plants seem to be doing ok so far. i think i am going to add a little more. my thermometer is reading 83 degrees. can i go higher?

Slowly raise to 86 deg, and watch the fish.

Most tropicals can take up to 88F if there is enough aeration
