Help ID chiclid

There are so many different species it's hard to say the size yours might attain.
Some Tilapia max out at 7", some very large depending on the species.
They are mostly omnivores, and as stated above, eat anything. Some will eat the feces from hippos as they are excreted.
The one in the pic below was almost 1.5ft.

I have one right now, big ole boy but still not full grown. He weighs a good 2 1/2- 3lbs, very thick. Most Tilapia are very mean, but some aren't. The one I have very calm but likes to chase the Sun Cats. Mine eats anything I put in the tank.

I lied about the weight, I'd say he is more like 1 1/2 to 2lbs :)
 
There are about 100 (maybe more) species of Tilapines with a number of genus represented. I have only kept about half dozen beside Tilapia niloticus.
