Picked up this 13 inch brute today. They sold him to me as a managuense despite me telling them I didnt think he looked like one. What do you see here? Hybrid? Motaguense?
Lots of mixed answers some wrong some possibly right but this is definitely a variation of Parachromis multifasciatus formally friedrichsthalii or possibly hybrid of it but I don’t think so. Not a managuensis or even a hybrid of managuensis.

and below Mayaheros beanii, but this is just one variant. From other rivers there are variants with much more predominant spotting
and females in spawning color can be quite different
